Five Easy Christmas Coffee Cocktails

It may be chestnuts, not coffee beans, roasting on an open fire that makes for a traditional Christmas. But when Jack Frost is nipping at your nose this year, why not combine your favourite warming coffee with a little Christmas spirit?

Whether you’re looking for the perfect post-turkey aperitif or a welcoming warmer for your Christmas guests, keep these five quick and simple coffee cocktail recipes handy over the holidays.

 

Pumpkin Spiced Bourbon Cream

2 Tsp pumpkin pie spice, plus more to garnish
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tsp pure vanilla extract
2 shots espresso
150ml heavy cream

½ Tsp Cinnamon

50ml Bourbon Whiskey

Instructions

Put all of the ingredients except the espresso and cinnamon into a large bowl or measuring jug and whisk until light and fluffy. Pour the espresso shots into a tall glass and spoon the pumpkin cream mixture on top.  Garnish with cinnamon and pumpkin spice.

 

Gingerbread Irish Latte

1 cup steamed milk

2 shots espresso

50ml Irish cream whiskey

1 shot gingerbread syrup

30g grated white chocolate

1 gingerbread biscuit

Instructions

Pour the espresso shots into a large mug, followed by the whiskey, then add the gingerbread syrup. Stir gently. Next, pour in the steamed milk to create a wonderfully warm latte and garnish with the white chocolate. Serve with the all-important gingerbread biscuit.

 

 

Honey Whiskey Espresso

25ml scotch whiskey

1 shot espresso

1 Tbsp honey

Grated orange peel to garnish.

 

 

Instructions

In a small glass pour first the whiskey then the espresso. Finally drizzle the honey on top before sprinkling with grated orange for a soothing, deceptively simple coffee cocktail that’s certain to impress.

 

Hazelnut Coffee Liqueur

Ingredientsmint

25ml Kahlua liqueur

25ml Avellana Hazelnut liqueur

2 Shots espresso

Whipped cream

Crushed dark chocolate

Mint Leaf

 

Instructions

Stir the espresso, Kahlua and Avellana together in a medium glass. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with crushed dark chocolate before finishing off with a refreshing mint leaf.

 

Hot Buttered Rum Brew

butterIngredients

1 Tbsp butter (room temperature)

2 Tsp muscovado sugar

1 Tbsp honey

Pinch of cinnamon

Pinch of nutmeg

50ml spiced rum

1 cup hot filter coffee

 

Instructions

In a large mug, beat the butter, sugar, honey, cinnamon, and nutmeg and rum together with a fork. Gradually add the hot filter coffee, continuously stirring until smooth. Serve with a cinnamon stick for a true winter warmer.
